Celebrating Dr. Sebi’s Legacy With Stories From Those Who Knew Him Best

Every year, we commemorate August 6, the day the world lost a visionary in holistic health, Dr. Sebi. Today, as we mark the 8th anniversary of his passing, we want to reflect on his enduring legacy and the profound impact he made on natural healing and wellness.

Throughout his life, Dr. Sebi championed the principles of alkaline living and the African Bio-Mineral Balance, which have become foundational elements in the holistic health community. 

His innovative approach to disease prevention and treatment, emphasizing the elimination of mucus and toxins through a plant-based, alkaline diet, has inspired countless individuals to pursue natural health paths. 

And his relentless advocacy for natural remedies over synthetic western medications has left an indelible mark on holistic medicine, encouraging a return to nature's simplicity and power. 

Below are stories from several of his closest companions.

Dr. Sebi: The Mentor

First, hear from Jenny. She was Dr. Sebi’s right hand and co-founder of Dr. Sebi’s Cell Food. Their relationship went beyond a business partnership and allowed them to form an unbreakable bond. Here’s her story:

“I had the honor of meeting Dr. Sebi for the first time more than 17 years ago through my mother,” she says. “Dr. Sebi was always friendly and filled with love and compassion.”

In 2014, when the company fell on hard times, she returned to work with Dr. Sebi. “I remember his robust laugh so clearly. It filled my heart with so much happiness. After I learned about the situation that Dr. Sebi was in… I was convinced that I wanted to help Dr. Sebi rebuild his office.”

“I remember the first day very clearly. It wasn't good… Business was complicated, but just being in Dr. Sebi's presence and hearing him speak filled my heart, and I knew I needed to help him.”

“Dr. Sebi entrusted me with his business, and I will continue to honor him and do whatever I must to maintain it as if he were here. Dr. Sebi lives in our hearts. He had so much love for everyone — a man filled with compassion.”

Dr. Sebi: The Teacher

Next, meet Bea, one of our health consultants trained directly by Dr. Sebi himself. This is her story:

“I was fortunate to have met Dr. Sebi and even traveled with him to his seminars. I shared many moments with the doctor, but one that I always share with our community stands out.”

“One day, a client came into the office asking to speak with Dr. Sebi. I insisted that the doctor wasn't available, and the client understood after I reassured her… Just as she was about to leave, Dr. Sebi came walking down the stairs… He asked the client what she had purchased and confirmed it was exactly what she needed.”

“Before they finished their conversation, the room filled up with people. It was the Dr. Sebi effect. He tried to leave, but everyone had questions, so I grabbed a chair, and he sat down. The crowd gathered around him in the lobby, and he answered as many questions as possible before leaving that day. That day, he reminded me of compassion, grace, and love.”

Dr. Sebi: The Healer

Meet Mel: He was Dr. Sebi’s best friend of many years. They had a close bond, sharing similar views and understanding of health. Here’s his story:

“From an early age, Dr. Sebi wanted to do something special for women. He accomplished that by giving women the herbs to keep their households well and healthy. Also, the knowledge of how to do that. Watch his videos.”

One of his favorite quotes from Dr. Sebi is, “Love begins inside of you. When you love yourself, loving someone else is easy.”

Lastly, here’s Sayra, she got the chance to join Dr. Sebi’s team as a health consultant. Here’s her story:

“My most vivid memories of Dr. Sebi are of him being barefoot, sitting under the shade of his favorite tree, and enjoying the morning sun while people-watching. He loved people, he loved an audience, he loved that warmth and connection.”

“Seeing Dr. Sebi was always an experience, not because he was this great healer or celebrity, but because he always had a joyful spirit, he radiated so much love and serenity… He was always willing to teach others because someone took the time to teach him. His message was simple, and he was ready to share it with anyone who was willing to listen.”

“He changed my life, he changed my health, he changed my future, and I’ll forever be grateful. He has been gone for eight years, and every day, I wish he could see the impact he caused and the people he has reached.”
